About

This is a blog about travel, adventure  and the pursuit of happiness. I think that the Elon Musk quote above pretty much summarises my philosophy on life and the reason I started this blog. I have always felt inspired by people who are willing to take risks and who have done extraordinary things. Despite living in an age that is full of possibilities, there are so many people who are too afraid to leave their comfort zone and strive for more in life. There are no do-overs in life, so I intend to do as good a job as I can in the one shot I’ve got. I created this blog because I want to share my thoughts, experiences and ideas to show that you can live a rich life without being rich.

About Me

My name is Ferdinand Goetzen, most people call me Ferdi for short. I come from a pretty mixed background, so moving around has always been a big part of my life. So far, I have travelled to over 50 countries, 6 of which I have lived in.

I currently live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam after moving here in the summer of 2016 to work in tech. My dreams and aspirations are constantly changing, but my long-term plan is to one day start my own business and run it as I travel the world and write. This blog is a way for me to share my challenges and experiences as I design the life that I want to live.

My Travels

Travel is my ultimate passion and it plays an important part in my life. I love the freedom and adventure that comes with it and I try to take every opportunity to discover new horizons. Most of my travels have been in Europe and Asia but I plan to explore more of the Americas, Africa and Oceania soon! Below is a map of all the countries I’ve visited. Click the markers to see post I’ve writtena bout the different countries!

My Bucket List
